Airdrie
travelled to Perth trying to continue our unbeaten run together,
with that in mind most of us expected an excellent game to ensue.
St Johnstone kicked off the match and until Jason Scotland scored
on the 28th minute that was really, all there is to report. The
goal came after a one - two between Ryan Stevenson and Scotland
opened up the Airdrie United defence.
Up until then the game had been pretty even both defence breaking
up any attacking play. |
 |
The
second half continued along much the same lines, Airdrie started
the brightest and we put pressure on Cuthbert and the St Johnstone
defence. The break off the ball a little bit of luck may have
help but unfortunately, it was not meant to be.
Brian McPhee once again presented us with a golden chance to
take something from the game, instead of taking the chance to
shoot from the corner of the box he skilfully laid it in to
the path of Stephen McKeown. Once again, the St Johnstone defence
were up to the challenge and blocked the shot.
|
While
Airdrie United were pushing forward St Johnstone could have stolen
another goal when Stephen Dobbie broke free, Stephen Robertson
in the Airdrie United goal kept the score line at 1 - 0 after
he pulled off a fantastic save.
