With a few of the Airdrie squad ruled out of today's match with the cold Andy Goram it has been suggested could have been on the bench along side Sandy Stewart for our match against Hamilton.
Stewart Taylor and Greame Holmes were both ruled out of today's match so it was a make shift mid-field that was chosen by Sandy. Stephen McKeown returned to the squad after an injury ruled him out last week and Stephen Docherty filled the gap left by Holmes. Bryan Prunty made it to the bench after but only just as he recovers from an ankle injury sustained in Training.

The match itself was to see very few chances for either team as both defences stood strong and battled to keep most of the play in the middle of the park. Paul Lovering had an early chance for the Airdrie when he fired wide after being put clean through on goal by Willie McLaren. David McEwan kept Brian McPhee out, mid-way through the first half McEwan was forced to save twice, in what seemed like a great chance to break the deadlock.
But it was Hamilton who would come closest to scoring, late in the half. A corner was not cleared inside the penalty area and only a last-ditch header by Kevin Barkey avoided an own goal by Stephen McKenna.

Four minutes after the interval,l Airdrie had an excellent opportunity to break the dead lock. We should have taken the lead when an excellent Willie McLaren cross-picked out McPhee and his header hit the base of the post to the relief of the Hamilton and Billy Reid.
The game was all a mid-field battle now and until the last ten minutes of the game, there were very few chances, but at the last, Hamilton could have stolen all the points instead of settling for a point.
Stephen Robertson tipped a Stephen Thomson header onto the crossbar before substitute Brian Carrigan struck a ferocious 20-yard volley, which crashed against the bar.
