Despite taking the lead at Dens Park today Airdrie failed to take anything from the game. A double by Airdrie lad Sean Higgins secured the win for the dark blues and maintained their undefeated home record in the league. It all started brightly for the Diamonds who had a spring in their step following last weeks win and John Baird opened the scoring in 25 minutes when he converted a low cross into the box
The lead lasted for only 3 minutes after Higgins converted a Leigh Griffiths cross. Before the 1st half ended Higgins bagged his 2nd to put Dundee in front. No further goals in a scrappy second half which saw Dundee content to maintain their lead and run out 2-1 winners.
