Airdrie travel to Starks Park on Monday night(25th Jan) knowing a win would set up a home tie against SPL side Aberdeen. Manager Kenny Black is looking forward to the tie and believes it will give the squad a chance to bounce back from Saturdays disappointing defeat.
He feels the Highlanders were worthy winners and whilst at 1-0 there was always a chance to grab a point Inverness on the day were the better team. |

Airdrie United exited the Active Nation Scottish Cup tonight following a 3-1 home defeat. Raith Rovers travelled to Excelsior Stadium for the replay and secured a fifth round home tie against Aberdeen with two first half strikes and a late penalty.
Kevin Smith opened the scoring for Raith after 24 minutes when he converted an Iain Williamson cross. Bobby Donelly got Airdrie level in 39 minutes when he got on the end of a superbly flighted ball by Scott McLaughlin. With the first half drawing to an end Gregory Tade found space at the back post to head past Robertson to put Rovers in front. |

Football returned to Broomfield Park for the first time since the 12th December 2009 and it was the 1st action the team had seen in 20 days. Inverness Caley were the visitors and they returned north with all 3 points following their one nil win.
3minutes from half time Simon Storey was short with a passback and Stephen Robertson fouled Richie Foran. Adam Rooney converted the resultant penalty which proved to be enough in a game Airdrie struggled to create chances. Report to follow |
